The City of La Vergne is located in the heart of Middle Tennessee. La Vergne is neighbor to the Country Music Capital of the World, nestled next to the 14,000-acre Percy Priest Lake, and ranked sixth in the state for being business-friendly by the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. We were named the 13th most affordable city in the U.S. by CNN Money in August 2011. There’s a lot going for La Vergne, including our 2012 Old Timers’ Festival! A Word from the Mayor
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2012 Old Timers Festival for the City of La Vergne! I have lived in this city for 25 years and have watched the event both as an attendee and as a participant in the parade, through an information booth, and as a city leader.
After the wonderful success of Old Timers Festival as a three-day event, we are building again as a full-blown festival event. It might be hard to do, but we expect the 2012 festival to be even better than last year’s!
As you go through these pages, you’ll see we are having carnival rides this year, as well as juried crafts, a food court so guests can find a seat somewhere to relax, free concerts, and an exciting parade featuring what we hope will be more floats and marching bands. On Sunday, we are holding an Old Time Gospel Homecoming, where our local churches are presenting choirs, singers, and other entertainment.
I want to thank all of our sponsors for helping to make this event possible. Your support for the Old Timers Festival and throughout the year mean so much to us.
So please, come and enjoy our festival! We’d love to see you at Veterans Memorial Park from September 14th – 16th.
Mayor Senna Mosley
